Meet Mrs. Patton

This fall will kick off my twelfth year of teaching. I have been teaching fifth grade at Dardenne Elementary since 2001. Before that, I taught in the Hazelwood School Distrct in Florissant, MO. There, I taught fifth grade and then fourth grade. In 1998, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Lindenwood University. In 2004, I completed my master's degree in education from Missouri Baptist University. My study of the eMINTS program began in the fall of 2005, and I became a certified eMINTS teacher after two years of training. Since then, I attended a two-day training session for veteran eMINTS teachers. During the past two summers, I attended two days of professional development that was provided by the Fort Zumwalt School District. My love for learning is truly a life-long commitment and I only hope it is contagious with each child I teach.
I am married to my wonderful husband Mark, and we have a son, Michael. He loves to explore and try to figure things out (and I love watching him do so!). Right now, he loves to play with flashlights and create shadows. He is a very happy child and has the best laugh to prove it. Michael will become a big brother this November when we welcome the arrival of our second child. I can't wait to meet Baby Brenden around the 18th of November.
