C.U.C.C.

This is a strategy to help ensure that ALL PARTS
of a question or prompt are answered.

MCPE03202_0000[1]

Give me a “C” – Circle all of the words that give directions.
Examples: Draw, explain, Make, Compare

Give me a “U” – Underline the directions that the
circled words tell you to do.

Give me a “C” – Count the number of answers you need, or the number of direction words that you circled.

Give me a “C” – Check: After writing your answer, go back to see
if all parts were completed.

So…WHAT’S THAT SPELL???
It “spells” C-U-C-C, a great
strategy for following directions.

C – Circle

U – Underline

C – Count

C – Check

This strategy is based on the model presented during
MRI training (The Missouri Reading Initiative), 2009-2010.
