Morning Procedures

Obj:   to become familiar with morning procedures, to make observations around the room, to follow written and verbal directions, and appropriately socialize with students in the group.

 

Students will complete the following tasks:

§  Read the morning message.

§  Make a lunch choice.

§  Unpack backpacks. 

§  Turn in forms and paperwork to the purple tub; turn in Friday Folders.

Comm. Arts-Spelling

1.    Drivers: Spelling Pretest at www.spellingcity.com: Click on the link here.  Then select “Find a List” and type in my first and last name: Jennifer Patton. 

2.   Navigators will have writing time:  Use this time to write about ANYTHING!  Here are some possibilities:

·        Your weekend (good or bad)

·        Your first week of school

·        Summer vacation

·        Favorites

·        A story…

·        Whatever you come up with

·        Introduction to theme (Look Inside) and story, “The Hot and Cold Summer.”

·        Lit read aloud

·        Prefixes, suffixes, and roots

·        Make and confirm predictions

·         Vocab: authority, souvenir, incredible, vow, commotion, exhausted
