Belated Valentine’s Day comprehension – Due by 2:00!

Morning Meeting: 1) Greeting 2) Sharing 3) Presidents’ Day à Why were you off yesterday?  Well, obviously because it was Presidents’ Day.  But, have you ever stopped to think why do we honor George Washington and Abe Lincoln?  Our reading activities for today will be centered around the observance of this holiday.

Let’s deepen our knowledge of the amazing accomplishments of the Portuguese explorers.  To do this, we will play “Main Idea Hunt” using pages 56-58 in the textbook.

HOMEWORK: Complete page 24 to show your understanding of the lesson.  Also, review handouts and any notes.  There will be a short quiz tomorrow about the Portuguese explorers.

·         A medley of Study Island math skills and math fact practice

·         OR, you can CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME GAME!!!  Remember the Digits Game??  This is sort of like that.  ENJOY!

·         And then there’s SpeedMath ~ Addition and subtraction.  GREAT math skills being used here.  J

·         There’s more!  Check out this “Millionaire” style game that blends math and science concepts.  How much will you earn??  Can you make it to the top and get $1,000,000??
