9:00-9:25 Morning Procedures	Obj: to become familiar with morning procedures, to follow written and verbal directions, to appropriately socialize with students in the group, to use time effectively to complete tasks/assignments Students will complete the following tasks: Complete the Morning Routine. Partner check: Is your partner at school today? If not, set up the absent folder and form. Read the Morning Message and follow any included directions. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear Students, Today is the beginning of the THIRD QUARTER. You are halfway through your fifth grade year. Now’s the time to plan and prepare, even more so than before. Think about what you are good at and how those skills can help you. Also think about what you could improve on. Set goals to improve in those areas. I have created a goals discussion in moodle that you may use when finished with all other assignments. Please turn in your Friday Folder, plus any notes or forms from your parents. The Social Studies vocabulary worksheet is also due today. That gets turned in to the gray box. For morning work, please complete the following tasks: 1) Take out your planner and open it to this week. 2) Sharpen a pencil or two so you are prepared for the day. 3) Play the Grammar Practice Park game below. 9:50-10:20 Specials	Music
10:20-11:20 Math with Ms. Burke’s class; My class goes to science	1. Assignments announcement: Please look at the back chalkboard for information to add to you planner. This section of the board is dedicated to Mrs. Patton’s Math students. 2. Weekly Math: Grade last week’s assignment together in class. 3. Discuss this week’s math homework, complete sample problem. It is due Friday. 4. Division strategies (session 3)
11:25-12:25 Lang. Arts	1. Mini lesson: Read aloud Nothing Happens on 90^th Street 2. Discuss the strategies included in the story. 3. Try it out/conferences 4. Share Spelling pretest: Lesson 15 (Drivers will take the pretest during the “Try it out” session above. Partners will switch tasks.
12:25-12:55 Recess and lunch	Remember: Make lunch enjoyable for everyone.J
1:00-2:00 Reading	Weekly Focus Skills and Strategies: Text structure (main idea and details); Using decoding/phonics ü Mini lesson: How do you figure out the main idea in a story? ü Independent reading time/conferences ü Reading response/reading log
