Dear 5th Graders,

Good morning!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I’m glad to see you on this chilly Monday morning.  Please turn in Friday Folders, notes or forms to the purple tub, and any homework (math) to the gray box.  Check out the Daily Plans for today and get right to work on the Morning Work for today.  See me if you have questions.

Make it a great day!
Mrs. Patton

MORNING WORK

POWER POINT FIX UP AND REFLECTION: With your partner, view your presentation.  While watching, notice any spelling errors, grammar and mechanics errors.  Also be sure to check sentences for clear meaning.  Look at the copy of the scoring guide on your desk to guide you as you fix up your presentation.

NOTE:  While this is your morning work, you will not finish in the time given this morning.  Minimize your presentation, and throughout the day, when you have time, continue working.  A gallery walk of student presentations will occur tomorrow.

9:20-9:50
Social Studies

Vocabulary review game – Each student will receive an index card with a vocabulary word written on it.  The card will be taped to your back and you will not know what it says.  Friends will see it and give clues to help you guess what it is.  Enjoy!

REMINDER: You will have a short quiz tomorrow over the first lesson, The Age of Exploration.  It will be helpful to study vocabulary from the worksheet we graded together in class.  Also, review the video quiz sheet (1/2 sheet of paper).
